JAKARTA, 25 November 2015 – trivago; world’s largest online hotel search site, presents the 2016 ranking for the top ten hotels in Singapore, based on the comprehensive and impartial trivago Rating Index™ (tRI™). The ranking derives from over 200 million ratings gathered from all over the web, that crafted a comprehensive, fair and reliable index of hotel ratings—the trivago Rating Index™ (tRI™).
AMOY by Far East Hospitality has come out tops again in the latest ranking of hotels in Singapore, beating established brands Raffles Singapore and Capella Singapore which came in second and third. It is also the only boutique hotel to stand among international and Singapore-based hotel chains in the Trivago listing released on November 17, 2015. Opened in November 2013, this two-year-old heritage hotel located in the bustling business district of Singapore is converted from a collection of shop houses dating more than 170 years.
AMOY was named for Singapore's Fujianese people, who came from the Chinese city of the same name and exudes a historically-rich backdrop of Chinese culture. The rooms of this hotel are named after Chinese surnames like Chen and Huang, and decorated with traditional furniture and even a porcelain wash basin. Called charming and calming by New York Times, a part of the Chinese-themed hotel comprises Singapore's oldest temple, Fuk Tak Chi Temple, which has since been converted into a museum. The hotel is also attached to the shopping mall, Far East Square.
“We are honoured that AMOY Hotel has been recognised in this year’s Trivago Rating Index for Hotels. The hotel’s unique heritage styling has resonated with guests and credit must also go to the entire AMOY team for their passion, hard work and commitment. Moving forward, we will continue to strive for higher levels of service excellence,” said Arthur Kiong, chief executive officer for Far East Hospitality.
Earlier this year in January, the 37-room boutique hotel was named top hotel in Singapore in TripAdvisor's 13th annual Travellers' Choice awards, where Capella Singapore and Raffles Singapore came in second and third, respectively
Another unique accommodation which made it to the list is Village Residence Robertson Quay. Also by the Far East Group, this family-friendly service hotel has been ranked seventh best in Singapore. It houses 72 apartments complete with a fully-equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi and a free shuttle service to various locations like Raffles Place, DBS Building and City Hall every weekday morning.
“Far East Hospitality recognizes that the Indonesian market is not a homogenous market, but rather diverse. As a response to this, we are committed to providing different hotel options to cater to the different needs of Indonesian travelers by creating a variety of hotels with unique characteristics and psychographics. We humbly invites Indonesians to stay with us to experience a Far More Singapore experience,” close Arthur.
