Have you ever wondered why we sleep and what would happen to our bodies if we didn't sleep? Have you ever thought of resorting to other methods in order to sleep better? Well, we will try to explain the purpose of sleeping and the importance of a good night's quality sleep for our health.

Sleeping is one of the most crucial natural states of mind and body that occurs for one purpose; restoring every bit of your body and its energy. During this moment, you are in an altered consciousness that makes you unaware of your surroundings, and that is how your brain, along with other parts of your body, can "rest" from all the activities you did during the day. Some people, though, have trouble sleeping at night and end up being exhausted the next day. This leads to mood swings, inability to focus, and other consequences. Recognize yourself? Don't worry; we're here to give you tips on the best method to fall asleep!

1. Light workout

Before you go to sleep, have you ever considered a light workout? Take yoga as an example. Yoga - or any other exercise - boosts your metabolism and improves blood circulation throughout the body. This can be helped by writing in a journey your thoughts, for example, instead of thinking about them when it’s time for you to sleep.

2. Warm Shower.

After a long day filled with activities, taking a warm shower will relax your muscles, thus making you fall asleep better.

3. Avoid screen use before bed.

The blue light emitted by your cell phone screen restrains the production of melatonin, the hormone that controls your sleep-wake cycle. It makes it even more challenging to fall asleep and wake up the next day.

4. Dim lights, signal your brain.

Speaking of Melatonin, when it’s dark, your brain produces melatonin. That is why turning the lights off will signal your brain that it is time for you to sleep.

5. Manage Stress. Don't overthink.

This can be helped by writing in a journey your thoughts, for example, instead of thinking about them when it’s time for you to sleep.

On top of that, ARTOTEL GROUP has meditation programs that we have put in place on Spotify for our guests to sleep better. Alongside those videos there are workout videos, and small lessons on how to meditate.
