Feel at home in the Village
Singapore, with its history of immigration, is a melting pot of cultures – just take a walk around ethnic neighbourhoods and you’ll see that reflected in their architecture and streetscapes. Feel like a local as you wander through the main roads and alleyways of these areas and retire to a Village hotel in the vicinity when you’re done for the day. Not sure which one to pick? We give you the lowdown on what you can expect at each of them.
Village Hotel Katong

Village’s flagship hotel plays off the distinctive Peranakan heritage of the Joo Chiat and Katong districts in the east of Singapore, home to numerous colourful shophouses boasting ornate facades and patterned ceramic tiles. Descendants to the Straits Chinese, with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Dutch influences in their heritage, the Peranakans are known for their taste for vibrant colours and rich, flavourful food. Come home to the hotel’s club rooms, which feature Peranakan-style furnishings and décor in warm blue tones, and enjoy daily breakfast and evening cocktails in the Peranakan Lounge during your stay.

Hungry for more? Then eat to your heart’s content at the Halal-certified Katong Kitchen on level 4, and walk off the calories later with some retail therapy at the adjacent Katong V mall. The hotel also comes with an outdoor swimming pool and gym for the serious fitness types, and you’re never too far from anywhere with complimentary shuttle services to the airport, East Coast Park and the neighbouring industrial estates.
